To whom it may concern,

My name is Vegas Kennedy, a current Year 12 student from Silkwood Independent School and I was hoping to collaborate with you and you’re organisation through a on-site shadow day or school based internship.
Silkwood is a Big Picture School and as such the learning structure at our school has a primary focus towards pursuing our passions for success beyond the schooling environment. From this innovative learning structure I have been given the opportunity to develop and embrace my passion for Real Estate through a variety of mediums. In spite of this, I have not yet collaborated with an external organisation to help strengthen my understanding of this field within a professional environment.
The past few years I have been studying graphic design and content creation. Through this I completed a student for a semester program at Bond University as well as a strong and lengthy internship with Yakk Digital, a digital marketing agency located on the Gold Coast. I worked under the chief graphic designer the past two years to learn and grow in my skills and knowledge.
More recently I have been wanting to widen my scope, follow other pathways and pursue my other interests. This is why I believe your company would be the perfect outlet for the next step in my career. I have already explored Real Estate through things like personal research, Masterclasses and online course work. I intend to begin preparing and undertaking my Real estate license course which I can obtain at 18. I am really passionate about exploring the real estate industry and I believe that the knowledge and experiences I gain through connecting with you and your team will be invaluable.
I am hopeful that this is something that you'd be open to considering. As it is a school based learning experience I will be fully covered by their insurance whist working with you. It could begin as just a meeting or one day experience from which you can ascertain if I am a good fit within your team.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you for your consideration.

Kindest regards,
Vegas Kennedy

REFLECTION - MAY 8TH 2024

Today was so good, I loved it and it has made me want to return and learn more. There was so much information with so many different things to do it really isnt the stereotype of walking through fancy houses and driving around in sports cars all day. Even though for most including myself that is the dream there is a lot in between me now, and then. We had a lengthy conversation about confidentiality and they informed me that it was the reason ive found it so hard for someone to take me on. Because agents are often dealing with peoples family's and homes there is a lot of sensitive and legally bound information and because I don’t have a 'sales persons certificate' im not legally allowed to hear or comment on these things. I was told if I were to come and be around those talks the only things I would be allowed to say is Hi, how are you? Goodbye and if I was asked about the property the only thing im allowed to respond with is "Im sorry im not permitted to comment on the property"
We went and scouted the property of a current client and afterwards I was tasked to carry out a CMA (comparative Market Analysis) on the property to compare any sort of transaction in that same house estate to establish a bench mark/pre-empt what the market will deem the value of the house. Majeedah and Luke have also been signed on as a Buyes agent for this client so in turn I was also tasked with finding the client his new property to purchase going of his specific search criteria. I had come up with 5 suitable options and worked with Majeedah and Luke to whittle down to 3 options that was taken to the client and contacted for inspections for the following day.
